Description
Whether you are interested in building a new distributed team, or looking to take an existing team "virtual", this session will cover the wide variety of issues that should be considered.  Distributed teams are not only a powerful way of expanding the potential of any organization, they are becoming an increasingly necessary way for organizations work effectively in the 21st century.

As with any work environment there are challenges and considerations which require planning and forethought.  Session topics will include: management approaches needed for managing virtual staff, HR issues for geographically disperse staff, tips for effective collaboration between virtual teams, and guideliness for establishing policy.  The session will also include a thorough survey of possible technical solutions for facilitating distributed work.

Desired Outcomes

Understanding the pros, cons, challenges and opportunities of working with or moving toward virtual teams.
